IgnitionMate

Time saving design

Prevent ordering the wrong (and expensive) part!
Designed to find the failed part or bad connection on the vehicle, no disassembling of ignition components is required (avoids accidentally introducing, or correcting, poor contacts in the system, which may further confuse and delay finding the actual problem.)
This tool pays for itself by virtue of the time saved in tracing the problem on the vehicle before disassembly / swapping out of expensive parts!

IgnitionMate

Measurement options

Ignition signals are fast, high voltage, pulses of energy that can damage even a good digital multimeter whereas the IgnitionMate has been specially designed to measure both primary and secondary ignition signals.

With caliper that clips onto the ignition spark cable: Secondary high tension / peak volt 10, 20, 40 kV scales - to measure high voltage between the ignition coil and the sparkplug. A polarity switch per display determines the polarity and correctly displays the high voltage signal. ( Normally single output coils have negative signals and dual output coils have negative and positive signals.)

SPARK current scale to measure the consistency of the high voltage current signal and to determine misfires.
The signal strength can be varied for display purposes. Use the scale markings on the adjuster to compare spark strength of different cylinders.

Use the SPARK scale to quickly check for primary ignition coil current or charge coil (AC-CDI) current.

RED & BLACK silicon direct connect tester cables: Primary low tension / peak volt 10, 40 or 400Vpk (Volts peak) scales - measure primary signals between the ICU and the power supply (battery or charge coil), timing pick-up (pulse coil or hall sensor), ignition coil and switches (key, emergency stop, footstand, throttle).
Also included are insulated crocodile clips and special PROBULATOR back probes that allow easy connection (without damage) to in line cable connectors.

The dual displays allow simultaneous measurement of two different ignition signals (SPARK compared to kV, kV compared to VPK, SPARK compared to VPK), which allows you to narrow down between which two points where the problem lies.

IgnitionMate

Standard features

This easy to use model includes internal rechargeable 1.5Ah NiMH battery that provide 6 hours autonomy.
Recharge the battery with any 12VDC source, such as a vehicle battery or 12VDC adapter while synchronizing.
The standard kit includes the instrument with rugged rubberizedprotective and mounting holster, combination spark cable caliper pick-up with silicon lead, stick-coil adapter, silicon test lead set with insulated crocodile clips and Probulator back probes. Also a 12VDC 6 1Ž2 ft(2m) power lead and instruction manual & quick reference guide all packed in a custom nylon carry case.

IgnitionMate Duo

Time saving design

IgntionMate DUO reduces the need for in depth knowledge of ignition systems and saves time in tracing the problem. Quickly find the cylinder with the bad plug / ignition coil or cable simply by comparing to a known good cylinder, even on different vehicles.

Find the failed part or bad connection on the vehicle, before disassembly / swapping out of parts (avoids accidentally introducing, or correcting, poor contacts in the system, which may further confuse and delay resolution of the unidentified problems).

Dual HT pick-ups capture spark strength as well as ignition coil peak voltage pulses.

Is there SPARK current going to that plug or not? Spark scales for each of the 2 cylinders being monitored.

Weak SPARK? Two ignition coil peak voltage scales for direct ignition voltage comparison to see which coil is delivering low voltage.
Is each coil getting the same voltage from the ICU (ignition control unit)? Two primary ignition circuit peak voltage scales for easy comparison.

IgnitionMate Duo

Measurement options

Ignition signals are fast, high voltage, pulses of energy that can damage even a good digital multimeter whereas the IgnitionMate has been specially designed to measure both primary and secondary ignition signals.

With 2 x calipers that clip onto the ignition spark cable of each cylinder: Secondary high tension / peak volt 20, 40 kV scales - high voltage between the ignition coil and the sparkplug. A polarity switch per display determines the polarity and correctly displays the high voltage signal. Normally single output coils have negative signals and dual output coils have negative and positive signals.
SPARK current scale to measure the consistency of the high voltage current signal and to determine misfires.
Range switch selects LEFT, RIGHT or AUTO to automatically adjust the displayed signals for easy comparison. E.g. if a the right signal is at maximum indicating very high SPARK current delivered by the ignition coil connected to the RIGHT caliper, select RIGHT to adjust the signals for direct comparison of intensity.

With black and red silicon direct connect lead sets: Compares primary ignition or ignition charge coil voltages on the 400VPK (volts peak) scale.
Also included are insulated crocodile clips and special PROBULATOR back probes that allow easy connection (without damage) to in line cable connectors.
